Introduction to your assistant

The private AI bound to your own mailbox and calendar — what it does on your behalf, and the line it never crosses without you.

Your assistant is the part of Dopia that acts as you. It carries the mailbox and calendar you authorised, so a draft it writes comes from your address and an invite it sends comes from your calendar. It is private: only you can see it, and it works only on what you own.

Everything else in this chapter runs on top of it. Routines are jobs it does on a schedule; Your desk is where its output lands.

What it knows

Two things at once, and it keeps both current:

  • How you work — your tone, how you follow up, the way you write.
  • Who you are working — the state of every company, contact and deal you own, read from the memory Dopia keeps on each.

That second half is why its drafts are not generic. It has read the thread and the meeting before it writes the reply.

What it does

  • Prepares your day. Who you are meeting, what you last discussed, what you promised to follow up on.
  • Drafts your follow-ups. Written from the full history of the deal, ready for your review instead of a blank page.
  • Keeps the record honest. After a call or a thread moves, the stage, next step and last touch are rewritten without you opening the record.
  • Handles scheduling. It manages your calendar and powers your booking link, so meetings get booked without you brokering times.
  • Answers questions. Ask it anything in the message box on Home — about a deal, a person, a week — and it answers from what actually happened.

The line it does not cross

Nothing addressed to a customer leaves in your name without your click. Drafts wait; invites wait; replies wait. Work that only changes what Dopia knows — updating a record, enriching a company, filing a recording — runs on its own.

Setting it up

It needs your mailbox and calendar, and that is the single highest-leverage step in Dopia — everything above depends on it. You can connect during onboarding or any time from Settings → Connections; both land in the same place.

One assistant binds to one mail provider: Gmail or Outlook, not both. The connected mailbox becomes the identity it sends from, and its calendar is what scheduling writes to.

Full details of what arrives when you connect are in Email & calendar sync.
