Email & chat capture

How Dopia captures email threads and chat conversations and files them against the right company, contact, and deal.

Once your inbox is connected, email and chat capture run quietly in the background. This page explains what gets captured and how Dopia decides where it belongs.

How matching works

Every message has people on it — senders, recipients, participants. Dopia uses those identities to match the message to existing contacts, and through them to the right company and deal. If someone new appears, Dopia can create the contact so nothing falls through.

What gets captured

  • Email threads — full back-and-forth, in order, on the deal's timeline.
  • Chat conversations — messages from connected channels, attributed to the contact who sent them.
  • Attachments and links — kept with the message so context isn't lost.

What stays private

Capture is scoped to your selling. Disconnecting a channel from Settings → Connections stops all future capture from it immediately. You're always in control of what's connected.

Seeing captured context

Open any company, contact, or deal and the captured history is right there on the record — newest activity first. From a deal, the Live Dossier rolls that history up into a brief you can read at a glance instead of scrolling the raw timeline.
