Private until you choose what counts
DMs are personal, so they start out visible to you alone — teammates can't even see a conversation exists. Tick the messages that matter, attach the thread to a deal, and that deal's memory works from exactly those, nothing else.

Contacts, companies and deals get a Messages tab: who you talked to, where, and how many messages. Open a row and the thread reads like the chat it was.
